​After four days of intense competition, the ALGS Split 1 Playoffs has awarded its title.

​With the crowd on their feet — an entire arena held hostage in the moment — “TSM Champions” flashes onto the screens. Erupting in screams with the adrenaline still circling like wildfire, TSM celebrated their well-earned win, snatched from the hands of their opponents at the last second.

Glowing with the excitement and thrill of an 8-game Match Point victory, TSM coach Raven (after giving me a fantastic hug) sat to talk about their brilliant victory.

TSM finally reclaimed their status as the top Apex Legends team in the world, winning the ALGS Split 1 Playoffs in style. Their final game saw them take a last-minute Valkyrie Ultimate, skyward diving to rocky cover on the other side of the zone. Utilising both their surroundings and sheer determination, the team took the game down to the wire.

​Cheered on by a crowd wrapped up in pure adrenaline, TSM took the victory.

Following an eight-game final at London’s Copper Box Arena, the Apex Legends Global Series (ALGS) has reached its dramatic conclusion. TSM are the ALGS Split 1 winners, finally regaining the title from Dark Zero Esports, who dominated 2022’s LAN tournaments, reports Hannah Marie from London’s Copper Box Arena.

TSM are long recognised as one of the most influential Apex Legends teams in the scene, with a history of dominating their North American region.

Throughout the competition, they have remained consistent, qualifying from the Group Stage into the Winner’s Bracket before holding on to a top 10 spot to avoid dropping to Elimination Bracket 2. Their biggest competition came from their North American rivals, NRG, and EMEA team Acend.
The Apex Legends Global Series (ALGS) is running all its 2023 LAN tournaments in London this year, with Split 1’s Playoffs having found a home at the Copper Box Arena on the weekend.

However, the EMEA ALGS region fell short of expectations in February’s Split 1 Playoffs, with only three teams qualifying for the finals. Both Acend and Alliance Esports were able to secure third and fifth respectively, with Element 6 finishing in ninth. In the context of Split 1, the EMEA’s reputation has been somewhat protected by the performances of these teams. However, the future of the region feels somewhat threatened.
